H & R Block / Honda Aquatrax Invitational
Welcome to the H&R Block Maritime Invitational page! The invitational first began in 2002 with 16 riders and has grown to as many as 132 riders. Now in its 10th consecutive year, with H&R Block being the sponsor the past six years, novice racers from the local area gear up for jet ski racing on the official course each completing one timed lap. Friendly competition sometimes turns serious with the spectator lined pier encouraging the racers to bring home the fastest time. Gather your family and friends to cheer our local racers at the Friday, July 8th event. Racing starts at noon and continues until all laps are complete. Number of teams will determine how long racing will last. If you have always wanted to race a jet ski, this is your opportunity! If you are a 2011 Maritime sponsor and would like to participate in this event, please use the email below and you will be contacted for more information. Each $250 sponsor is eligible for a four man team at an additional cost of $25 per person ($100 per team)…it’s a great advertising opportunity! Don’t worry about equipment…all machines are provided by Patrick Mell of PM Sports Marketing. If you are not a sponsor, but would like to race in front of the crowd and feel the thrill of soaring over the waves, please email the contact below for more information. There are usually a few openings available for a four man team with the $100 fee applicable.
New this year, will be the format for the H&R Block Invitational Championship Race. On Saturday, at 5:00, the top 4 racers from Friday’s race and the top 2 racers from Friday’s H&R Block teams, will team up with 6 professional racers making 6 – 2 man teams competing for the top prize!! Winner takes all. Cash prize will be awarded.
